Accessing and searching this site

To send a requested page, the server processes the IP address and technical request information, such as the requested URL, time and browser information. An on-site search sends the terms you enter to this server. We use these data to deliver the site and maintain its security and reliability, relying on our legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Reading articles does not require a visitor account or a contact form.

The site runs on a STRATO server, as identified by the operator. Configured rotation for named processed, error and PHP server logs is size-based (10 MiB, up to ten rotated compressed copies), not a fixed number of days. This does not establish how long every server, mail or backup record remains available. The actual backup deletion cycle and any further hosting processor or third-country arrangement have not been established for this notice; we will update it when verified. Please contact us for the current information rather than treating this as a claim that no such processing occurs.

Accounts, correspondence and weekly posts

Authorised WordPress users sign in using necessary authentication cookies; this is separate from ordinary public reading. If you email us, your address and message are processed to answer you or handle a possible project enquiry, under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR or Article 6(1)(b) GDPR where you request steps before a contract. Please do not email sensitive or confidential material. Incoming weekly briefing emails are handled by the server’s existing mail system and Postie, which can transform authorised messages into published articles. Do not assume a message sent to the publishing mailbox remains private. Postie is configured to remove mail after processing, but this does not establish the retention of mail-server records or backups.

Correspondence is retained only as needed to handle the request and applicable record-keeping duties; authorised account data are kept while the account is needed. Specific mail-server and backup deletion intervals have not been verified, so no fixed period is asserted here.

Other websites and your rights

Following a source or C-7 link takes you to a different website with its own privacy information. You can request information about your personal data, correction, erasure, restriction and portability where applicable, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. You may complain to a competent data-protection supervisory authority. Contact csi@c-7.de to exercise your rights or ask about the processing and retention details not yet confirmed above.
